There is something that men quite often feel self-conscious about as they age: lack of libido. It does not happen all the time, but it happens far more frequently when they were only 20 years old.

Causes of Sexual Disinterest
It may be a result of some of the symptoms mentioned above. It also could be an indirect result of depression, illness, or cancer as well as a cause of certain medications used.
Excess alcohol use may be another major problem for men as they get older. It can actually make a man impotent as alcohol decreases testosterone levels when consumed on a regular (daily) basis.
One other thing you may not realize either is that lack of sunlight also results in decreased libido. This is evident in the way most people seem to have a greater appetite for sex during the summer months when they are actively involved in more outdoor activities.
Conversely, during the winter months you may have noticed a decrease in sexual drive. This is a result of the increased melatonin production that occurs during this time.
Practical Solutions
Of course, you already know about the popular prescription medications that men use to resolve this problem. However, current research shows that these may not be the best solutions for all men.
Likewise, some men have benefitted greatly from surgery. However, the types of surgeries used to increase libido and/or improve sexual performance are not for all men.
Therefore, men are now turning to alternative solutions such as the following:
Sometimes they take an herbal supplement that contains aphrodisiac ingredients such as ginseng, yohimbe, arginine, catuaba, or others.
They might incorporate more activity into their lives. For instance, maybe they would start taking more walks, jogging, or playing sports. This helps keep the blood flowing and increases energy.
Sometimes men change their diets. You would be surprised at how a healthy diet can have an effect on one’s libido.
