Six Foods That Increase Libido
You probably have heard the saying “you are what you eat.” Well, in this case you are aroused by what you eat. It is a fact that certain types of foods help heighten the senses in both men and women.
Thus, they feel “ready to go” in the bedroom or wherever. These tips apply to both men and women, by the way.
Why Food?
It just so happens that the one thing that men like the most is sex, and that another that they really enjoy is food. Therefore, to make your man happy why not combine both?
Sexually enhancing foods include the following:
- Oysters-Usually they are preferred raw, if you can stomach them. I suppose they could also be warmed up and served hot if you cannot stand the thought of eating raw seafood. One of the reasons they are preferred is because of the dopamine in them. This is a substance, which has been known for its role in promoting positive mood-in this case a very positive mood!
- Garlic and liver-When combined together apparently these two foods are considered a Godsend. If you can stomach this combination, go for it. I personally cannot stand liver so I probably would choose something tastier.
- Strawberries (and other fruit)-You know the old romantic routine of either chocolate-covered strawberries and/or champagne in a bucket right? Well, believe it or not this is more because of the fruit than the wine product. A combination of the sweetness, tartness, and softness for some reason makes most people think of sex. Stimulation also occurs in a similar way when eating grapes, mangoes, kiwi, oranges, and other tart foods.
- Chocolate-Mostly women prefer this, and for good reason. It just seems to do something to a woman that no other food seems to be able to do. The secret to this aphrodisiac is the chemical phenylethylamine, which has a similar effect as the dopamine in raw oysters does. Chocolate also produces a “high” in people similar to caffeine. Since women are having such success with this product men are starting to use it more too.
- Nuts-This is a man’s food for real! Never mind the play on words, either (“nuts…get it??). A majority of them contain essential fatty acids, which help arouse a man. These are testosterone-producing agents as well.
- Eggs-In moderation, eggs are a great food. They provide potent concentrations of both B6 and B12. They also contain B5.
